Learn about Tzu Zoo Rescue and our mission to save lives

Our Mission

Tzu Zoo Rescue is a volunteer based non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue and foster care organization based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas.

Our ultimate mission is to match homeless Shih Tzus and Lhasa Apsos with ideal, loving forever homes and give these homeless animals a second chance at a wonderful, new life that they so richly deserve.

Rescue & Prevention

By working closely with local animal shelters, we work to prevent the senseless euthanasia of unfortunate stray, abused or abandoned pets, who have ended up in the shelters or have been abandoned through no fault of their own.

Medical Care

After providing incoming dogs with immediate medical care, vaccinations, heartworm testing, urgent dental care and spay/neuter, the rescued dogs are placed into temporary foster care.

Foster Care

In foster care, dogs receive the same love and attention as a cherished family pet. Through temperament evaluation and behavioral modification (as needed), we ensure each dog finds a loving family.

Education

We educate the public and potential adopters about spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm preventatives, regular vet care, good nutrition, regular grooming, microchipping and adopting rather than purchasing from a breeder.
